Rimlight collects nothing about you. It has no account, no analytics and no crash reporting. This page lists everything the app sends over the network, and where it goes.
Your license key, to Dodo Payments
Dodo Payments sells Rimlight and issues its license keys. When you activate a key, Rimlight sends Dodo the key and your Mac's name, as set in System Settings > General > Sharing, so the activation shows which Mac it's on. After that, Rimlight sends the key and its activation ID about once a day to check that the key is still valid, and again if you deactivate the Mac. The key itself stays in your Mac's Keychain.
Update checks, to this site
Rimlight uses Sparkle to check for updates. It downloads appcast.xml from this site, and the new version if you choose to install it. Like any download, the request carries your IP address and the app's version. Sparkle's optional system profile is turned off.
Your prompts and images, to Claude Code and Codex
Rimlight starts Claude Code and Codex on your Mac, under your own Anthropic and OpenAI accounts. Claude Code reads your project to plan the icon. Your messages, the prompts, and the images Codex edits during a refinement or a build go to Anthropic and OpenAI through those tools, and nowhere else. Their terms and privacy policies apply to that data, as they do whenever you use those tools yourself.
What stays on your Mac
Sets, concepts and builds are files in a .rimlight folder inside your project, and Claude Code keeps the chats in its own folder on your Mac. Rimlight doesn't upload any of them.
When you buy
Dodo Payments, as merchant of record, collects what a purchase needs, such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details, under its own privacy policy. Dodo shares your email address and order with me so I can help with your license. I never see your card details.
When you email support
I use what you send only to answer you. A problem report from the app's Help menu adds the versions of Rimlight, the rimlight command and macOS to the email, and you can read and edit it before you send it.
